Give 3 disadvantages of Batch production. Workers may be demotivated due to the repetitive nature of the tasks. Even if batch is small, costs will still be high. Paying for machinery/workers sitting idle between batches.
Give a definition of flow production. Flow production is where products are continuously produced by mass production.
Give 3 advantages of flow production. Machinery can work 24/7. Can benefit from economies of scale. Can produce huge amounts of products - higher sales.
Give 3 disadvantages of flow production. Demotivates staff. Huge set up costs - expensive machinery. Breakdowns can be both expensive and time consuming.
