    1. As you go DOWN, metals become MORE reactive, (outer electron is more easily lost as it's further from nucleus)
      1. LOWER melting and boiling point as you go down
        1. LOW density
    2. Group 7
      1. As you go DOWN, it is LESS reactive, (it's harder to gain an extra electron because outer shell is further from nucleus)
        1. HIGHER melting and boiling point as you go down
          1. Coloured vapours
      2. Transition elements
        1. Good conductors of heat and electricity
          1. Dense, strong (more than group 1) and shiny
            1. LESS reactive than group 1
              1. HIGHER melting and boiling points, (except Mercury)
                1. Compounds are very colourful and make good catalysts
