What is an advantage of seeing things with your own eyes? You don't have to rely on anyone else's information or memory.
What is a disadvantage of covert observations? It can be considered unethical as they have not been asked.
What two kinds of observation are there? Participant and non-participant.
What can observations be? Covert or overt.
What is an advantage of participating? You understand things from other people's points of view.
What is a disadvantage of overt observations? The OBSERVER EFFECT - people knowing you're there can make them change their behaviour.
What is good about observing from a distance? You can be objective - you and your findings won't be influenced by others.
