| PP's: Seven adult MALES and two adults FEMALES. | Five pp's were studied intensively; Minimal data from the other four were collected in order to confirm the results of the first five. |
| Method: Lab experiment. pp's told to avoid alcohol and caffine and to report just before normal bedtime. pp's were woke throughout the night by a doorbell and asked to recall a dream if they had been dreaming. | Equipment: Electrodes attached near the pp's eyes were connected to an EEG machine which measures brain electrical activity and the EOG measures eye movement. |

ALL subjects were more likely to recall dreams when woken from REM. This gives us an answer to question 1. in the aim. |

Subjects were woken after either 5/15 mins of REM and asked if they had been dreaming for 5 or 15 mins. Results show that pp's were mostly accurate in their estimations. |

These results support the idea that eye movement is related to dream content which gives us an answer to question 3 of the aim. |

The direction of eye movement during REM seems to be related to dream content. There are no real conclusions only that REM sleep IS connected to dreaming. |
