Species diversityThe number of different species and the number of individuals of each species within any one community.Genetic diversityVariety of genes possessed by the individuals that make up any one speciesEcosystem diversityThe range of different habitats within a particular area.

Species diversity can be measured using species diversity index

D = species diversity indexN = total number of organisms of all species

n = total number of organisms of each speciesZ = sum of

Agricultural ecosystems are controlled by humans. Some species are preferred so there is a high frequency of them. Most species are reduced or killed.Very low species diversity.

There are numerous habitats in forests. High species diversity. Many species are lost and very few replace them in agriculture, cattle etc. Therefore loss of species diversity.
