Has larger numbers of the population in younger people and less older people.   Stable/stationary: looks like a rectangle. has relatively equal numbers.   Declining: upside down pyramid. More old people, less young people.       Birth rates: number of births per 1000 people in a year. 10-20 is low and 40-50 are high. Death rates: number of deaths per 1000 people in a year.     Immigration: to move permanently into another country. Rate is per 1000 per year. Emigration: to leave ones country with purpose to live in another country. Rate is per 1000 per year.   Push factors make someone want to leave the country and pull factors make people want to go to another country. Pull is no war and less crime, educational opportunities, choice of government. Push is Dictatorship, no health care.   Natural increase rate: difference between births and deaths to get this you do birth rate – death rate divided by 1000.   Net migration rate is the difference between people immigrating and people emigrating from the same country. To get this you do immigration rate – emigration rate divided by 1000.   Population growth rate is the overall growth o a countries population. Natural increase rate + net migration/1000   Doubling time is how long it would take a population to double in size. Divide 70 by the population growth rate.
