Heat energy tends to flow away from a hotter object to its cooler surroundings.Heat energy can be transferred by RADIATION, CONDUCTION or CONVECTION.

Radiation:

Kinetic Theory:The Kinetic Theory can explain the Three States of Matter. The Three States of Matter (S, L and G).

Conduction:The Conduction of heat occurs mainly in Solids. Metals are good conductors because of their free electrons.

Convection:The Convection of heat occurs only in Liquids and Gases. Convection occurs when the more energetic particles MOVE from the HOTTER REGION to the COOLER REGION - and take the heat energy with them!
