  1. Synapses
    1. The gap between two neurons
      1. Chemical impulses are sent across the Synapse.
        1. Step 1: Impulse arrives and stimulates the Vesicles to move outside the Neuron

          Annotations:

          • Vesicles: Small containers inside the Neuron that contain neurotransmitters.
          1. Step 2: Neurotransmitters are released into the Synapse.

            Annotations:

            • Neurotransmitters: The chemicals sent across the Synapse.
            1. Step 3: The Neurotransmitters diffuse across the synapes into the receptors.

              Annotations:

              • Receptors: Stimulated by Neurotransmitters. Differently shaped receptors are specifically for differently shaped Neurotransmitters.
              1. Step 4: Receptors are stimulated and send an electrical impluse across the neuron.
