3. Heard a booming voice demanding 'Iqra' (recite) and a silk scroll appeared before Muhammed
  1. Could not recite as he was illiterate
    1. Felt a pressure going through him
      1. Felt like he was going to die
      2. Had a moment of realisation and suddenly he could read and recite
        This was the 1st revelation of the Qur'án
        Ensured the protection and preservation of Islam
4. Often viewed as a living miracle
al Miraj
1. 619CE
2. Muhammed sleeping by the Ka'ba
  1. Winged horse called Buraq appeared and took him to Jerusalem
    1. Then took him up to heaven where he spoke to all the previous prophets that had gone before him
      1. Buraq took him higher into the heavens and into the presence of Allah
        Suddenly the experience ended and he was taken back to Earth
        Sleeping spot was still warm
        Cup still had water trickling from it
        The experience had happened in a split second
3. The Ascent
The Qur'án is a miracle given to Muhammed

Allah performs miracles when He decides
