What is a mesh network?

What is a star network?
each device is connected to an individual cable directly to the server.
usually the layout of choice in schools/offices because they tend to be most reliable.
Benefits of Ethernet cables.
stable connection.
reduced possibility to hacking.

Benefits of wifi.
cheap to set up.
more vulnerable to hacking.
signal quality will reduce through walls.
user not tied down to specific location.
tends to have slow transfer speeds.
