Question Answer
Perception The way the brain makes sense of the visual image detected by the eyes.
Retina The light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye which is made up of nerve cells called rods and cones.
Rods The light-sensitive cells in the retina that respond even in dim light detecting only light not color.
Cones The light-sensitive cells in the retina that respond only in bright light detecting different colors.
Optic nerve The bundle of nerve cells that lead out from the retina, at the back of the eye, carrying information from the rods and cones to the back of the brain.
Photo receptors The light that enters the eye is undetected by these special cells. There are two types of Photo receptors- Rods and Cones
