    Breakdown on Commandments

Slide 2

Now we know the importance of law and how it differs from morals and ethics. Just as it was explained from the quiz, these three have different statements that govern them
    A Peek At Definitions

Slide 3

When he finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the testimony, stone tablets inscribed by the finger of God. Exodus 31:18 CSB
The Lord said to Moses, “Cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. Exodus 34:1 CSB
    Who wrote the Commandments?

Slide 4

The Lord also said to Moses, “Write down these words, for I have made a covenant with you and with Israel based on these words.” Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did not eat food or drink water. He wrote the Ten Commandments, the words of the covenant, on the tablets. Exodus 34:27‭-‬28 CSB

    The Controversy
Many people believe that a lot of things in the Old Testament are irrelevant to our time now and that we should stick to the New Testament instead. Is that a correct idea to have?

Slide 7

“Don’t think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass away from the law until all things are accomplished. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17‭-‬20 CSB

Slide 8

The Law or the 10 Commandments, has not been abolished. Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.  Matthew 5:48 CSB Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus,  Philippians 2:5 CSB For who is God besides the Lord? And who is a rock? Only our God. God — he clothes me with strength and makes my way perfect.  Psalms 18:31‭-‬32 CSB

Slide 10

    Keep This In Mind
"We must be very careful if we decide not to follow the commands of God. After all, they are His commands. We do not choose what is acceptable to Him. He chooses what is acceptable. It is our responsibility to obey " (Robby Lockeby).
