Slide 2

Countries need to control rapid population growth so that they don't become overpopulated. They also need to develop in a sustainable way.

Slide 3

So what are the methods used?

Slide 4

    Birth COntrol
Aims to reduce the birth rate Some, like China, do this by limiting the amount of children couples are allowed to have. Governments also plan and limit for couples by offering free contraception and sex education This helps towards sustainable development, as the population won't get much bigger.

Slide 5

    Immigration laws
Aim to control immigration Governments can limit the amount of people allowed to immigrate into the country. They can also be selective about who they let in - for example - less people of child bearing age means that less children will be born inside the country. This slows down the birth rate, leading to sustainable development.
