Balanced Diet - B1.1Nutrients found are; Protein (made of amino acids) - found in chicken, fish, lentils for example. it is useful as it builds new tissues in the body (especially good if your growing / helps repair). Carbohydrates - found in rice, potato, bread, pasta. the job of this is to provide energy. Fats - found in butter, lard, oils. They provide stored energy which is used for a later time if you dont eat carbohydrates. Water- All chemical reactions in the body require water, so this is very important for your body. Fibre - Use is to help prevent constipation. This is found in foods like food and veg. Vitamins and minerals - Required with general health Without a balanced diet it can lead to malnutrition (over/under weight) You can become overweight by having more energy coming in the going outYou can become underweight if the amount of energy going in is less then the energy going out. Metabolism is a chemical reaction which is always having. some people have high or low metabolisms. It can depend on; Amount of exercise done Genetics Amount of muscle to fat ratio in the body Gender (generally women have a lower metabolism rate than men) Cholesterol is a type of fat required in a body to make cell membranes. however too much can create blocked arteries. This can result in problems like Heart attacks. Type II diabetes is from being overweight. This disease means you cannot control your blood sugar. Its a result from insulin not being recognised in the body.
