1. Open the image you wish to crop. 2. Left click once on the crop tool from the tool palette. 3. Move mouse pointer onto image – it will now look like a cross. 4. Place it at the top left corner of the area you wish to crop. 5. Hold down your left mouse button. 6. Drag the mouse to the bottom right corner you wish to crop. 7. Release the mouse button. A box will appear around the area to be cropped – the inside is what will be kept, the outside removed. 8. Make sure the box contains the area you wish to keep. To change this: a. Move your mouse pointer inside the box. You will see a four-headed arrow. b. Hold down the left mouse button. c. Drag the mouse to move the box so that it encloses the area to be kept. d. Release the mouse button. 9. Make sure the box is large enough for the area you wish to keep. To change this: a. place your pointer on the side of the box you wish to move. A double headed arrow will appear. b. Hold down left mouse button. c. Drag the mouse to enlarge/reduce the area enclosed by the box. d. Release the mouse button. 10. Move the mouse pointer outside the box and double left click or select Image → Crop from the Menu Bar.
