Of Mice and Men: Key Messages
Steinbeck shows how difficult/harsh life was in 1930's America.
The Great Depression
Lots of people were lonely.
Many people were discriminated against (Crooks, Curley's Wife, Lennie...)
The strongest characters survive and the weak are vulnerable.
The weak are all dead, if not physically, they are mentally.
The characters all have "dreams" of a better life, but these will never come true.
They make these dreams because their lives are repetitive and bleak.
They have no hope.
These points can all be used to answer Part B of the questions!!!
