Nuclear family
1. Two parents and child(ren).
Blended family
1. Stepfamilies that have joined through remarriage.
Extended family
1. Parents, kids, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Family with same sex parents
1. Two same-sex parents and children.
Purpose
1. To provide the right place for a married couple to have children.
2. Provides stability and security for society, children raised in a good social setting and they gain moral understanding.
3. Teach children right and wrong.
4. Raise children as Christian and introduce them to the Christian faith.
5. Family was Gods intention for humans.
Single-parent family
1. One parent and child(ren).
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians)
Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. (Colossians)
1. Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. (Psalm)
Humanists would want people to marry for love and they should both consent.
1. Most atheists view sex outside of marriage and same-sex relationships as fine.
