A input device captures data and sends it to a computer system to be processed

A output device displays or uses the information that comes out of the computer system
1. sound- a way that information from the output can be made availiable for users.
  1. examples: headphones,buzzers,speakers
2. Light: used to display output information
  1. Examples: LED,LCD,Touchscreen, Screen,CRT
3. movement and control-mostley used in computer systems eg. a robot arm ,also the vibration in a gaming conroller is a form of motion

Manual input device requires a human hand to control it
