Small Star Life Cycle
  1. A NEBULA, or cloud of dust and gas (H), is formed by gravity pulling it together
    1. PROTOSTAR - Helium pushing out, gravity pushing in. H --> HE (nuclear fusion)
      1. MAIN SEQUENCE - Most of its life. H --> HE still (nuclear fusion). Equilibrium (balance)- the gravity pushing in is equal to the energy pushing out.
        1. RED GIANT - Used up all the H, nuclear fusion is now HE --> C. The core of the red giant is very hot and the outer part is cooler.
          1. WHITE DWARF - C, FE - very hot core
            1. BLACK DWARF - Dead Star, FE, C
