In order to do so, we need to focus on a thesis that provokes the reader critical thinking and to use concrete evidence carefully analyzed
When to use an argument to convince the reader
That one position is superior (Comparison - Contrast)
That one interpretation of a reading is valid (Analysis)
Audience and Argumentation
It is crucial to identify the type of audience we have (sympathetic, neutral, or hostile) and find the best way to convince them
For example: The readers' awearness of the problem, its importance to its lives, and its impact
Also, it is important to take into account if there is any reason that will cause the reader to resist the topic explored
Organization
Creating an outline pre-writing
Its helps keep the argument focused and organized and also it makes it easy for instructors to follow the argument.
Conceding and Refuting
It is important to concede another viewpoint, to make the author more open-minded and the topic more reasonable.
Throughout the argumentative essay this opposing viewpoint is going to be refuted, and this will strenghen the author's thesis
