What is energy? Energy is the ability to make a change happen.
What is energy needed for? Energy is needed to move or heat something, to make a noise, or to change an object's shape.
What is work? Given to the effects of using energy.
What is energy measured in? Using a unit called joule.
What are the different forms of energy? Kinetic energy Heat energy Light energy Sound energy Electrical energy
What is Kinetic energy? It is the energy of movement.
What is Heat energy? Heat energy can come from the sun, flames, chemical reactions, electrical devices or even from a person or animal.
What is Light energy? Light energy comes from the sun, light globes, fires and animals such as glow-worms.
What is Sound energy? Sound energy is the energy that air has when it is vibrating.
What is Electrical energy? Electrical energy comes from power stations, solar cells, batteries and sparks such as lightning.
What is potential energy? It is stored energy possessed by n object.
What are some examples of potential energy? - Books on the bookshelf - Petrol in a car
What is photosynthesis? It is the process where plants use the energy from the sun with carbon dioxide and water to produce glucose and oxygen.
What are the different types of potential energy? Gravitational Potential Energy Chemical Energy Elastic Potential Energy Nuclear Energy
What is Gravitational Potential Energy? It is energy stored in an object when it is above the ground.
What is chemical energy? Energy that is stored in substances.
What is elastic potential energy? Energy stored in a stretched or squashed spring.
What is nuclear energy? Energy stored inside the small particles that make up all matter.
