Cell Theory All living organism are composed of cells with a membrane to separate inside and outside. Cells contain genetic information which have the instructions for all cellular activities. Cells have their own energy release system that powers the activities
Unicellular organisms Organisms consisting of only one cell to carry out all methods of life. (Nutrition, metabolism, growth, response, excretion, homeostasis, reproduction.)
Homeostasis Keeping conditions in the organism within tolerable limits.
Multicellular organisms Organisms consisting of a single mass of cells, fused together.
Emergent properties Properties arise from the interaction of the parts of a complex structure.
Cell differentiation Cells become specialized to perform a specific function. (A tissue of liver cells, heart cells .etc)
Tissue A Group of cells specialized to perform the same function.
Stem cells Undifferentiated cell capable of becoming any type of cell through differentiation.
