Question Answer
This image shows the first steps of the editing process, I have progressed further now, I have completed 2 minutes of edited video content so far and belive that I'm succsessful in portraying what was expected from my videos pitch.
The first scene I had filmed was the bathtub scene, Initially it was meant to foreshadow the ending to my music video portraying the protagonist eventual suicide. The cinematography of this scene was meant bear similarity's the pre- raphalite painting of Ophelia. I had looked at other methods of filming this scene such as burning a rose and throwing it into the water but It didn't really bring across my artistic vision for the video which why I had decided to maintain simple and quick establishing shot of the bathtub.
This is my music videos artist and main character to its story, 'Ella Fleck' my plan was to initially focus on how story of my piece was told, there is a smaller emphasis on lip sync (I am working on expanding on this) and a greater focus on the videos narrative. Her clothing for the video was a simple green dress and I had also use a large amount white silk to give haunting yet mad look to her character. I think the character and clothing choice works well within the final video.
The primary setting for my video was 'Epping Forest', I had used my own home but it was for smaller scenes such as the bathtub 'foreshadowing' scene but the forest had the most ambiance and I felt it was the right overall setting for the themes of loneliness and madness I wanted to bring across in my video.
This is the closing shot to my music video, to begin with I was going to have the dress in the water but there was an issue in looking for the pond I was orginally planning to use at the late time we where filming so I decided that finding a relativity small pond area and using a valentines card would still give my video the closure I had wanted to give to my video initially. The card itself was intended originally to be seen at the start of the video whilst Ella was in her room, but from a creative standpoint the scene didn't work so I used the card in the videos climax as it really seems to tie things together in the end.
