    Layers of The Earth
    Crust - The crust is the outermost layer of the earth it consists of mountains, trees, bodies of water e.t.c. The crust is between 10-90 km. Mantle - By the time you reach the mantle, you will notice that it is much much lower and very thick (2500-2900 km). It is made out of melted rocks (iron). Outer Core - This is also made out of melted rock and is very hot. It is 2200 km thick. Inner core - The Inner core is 80% iron and is 1200 km. Lithosphere - The Lithosphere is the upper, hard portion of the Mantle and the crust. Asthenosphere - The asthenosphere is just below the lithosphere and is always moving. It warms up and rises then cools and falls
