The slope of a velocity-time graph represents the acceleration of the object. The steeper the slope of the graph the greater the acceleration. The area underneath the line in the velocity-time graph represents the total distance travelled.

Acceleration: The rate at which the velocity of an object changes.

Velocity: The velocity of a moving object describes it's speed in a given direction.
