Matter: Anything that has mass.PARTICLE THEORY:All matter is made up of very small particles. All particles in a pure substance are the same. (gold, silver) There is space between particles. Particles are always in motion (heat=faster) Particles are attracted to one another.Solids: Hold their shape, particles have close bonds. Liquids: Can be poured. Take shape of container. Particles further apart and moving faster that in solid form.Gases: Particles are very far apart, moving extremely fast. Can be held in container. Can escape bonds.
