2. For example one family may have joint conjugal roles and two wage-earners, and another may have segregated conjugal roles and one wage-earner.

1. Older and younger generations have different attitudes and experiences which reflect the era they were brought up in,
2. For example they may have different views about divorce, gay marriage or cohabitation.
Social class diversity
1. Family structures are partly influenced by income.
2. For example the upper class are likely to have better family structures than the working class.
