POSTERIOR CLASS I
1. Do not remove unaffected tooth tissue
2. Unsupported enamel can be left
3. Do not bevel enamel edges
4. LA, Shade, rubber dam
OUTLINE FORM - access caries
1. Remove from ADJ
2. Place comp in small increments and cure for 30 secs
3. each increment only touches 1 wall of prep
4. final increment and contour shape
5. Remove rubber dam and check occlusion
6. Finish and polish - remove oxygen inhibited layer
CLASS II
1. OUTLINE FORM - access caries
2. Lesions generally saucer shaped
3. Contact areas must be cleared
4. Same as before - matrix, fill in increments etc
5. Run probe round marginal edge to ensure no overhangs
CLASS V
1. Same as before - LA, shade rubber dam etc
2. OUTLINE FORM - gain access and remove decalcified enamel
  1. bevel enamel edges and line as appropriate
3. Contour, finish and polish
CLINICAL HANDLING
1. Don not condense like amalgam
2. where possible use composite instruments
