Resource summary

Light stage
  1. Light Dependent (grana of chloroplast)
    1. Ingredients: Water, Light, Chlorophyll
      1. 1. Light is absorbed
        1. Chlorophyll
          1. Photolysis
          2. 2 Pathways
            1. Pathway 1 (cyclic)
              1. electrons absorb the light energy
                1. high energy electrons transferred along electron aceptors and back to chlorophyll
                  1. as it moves excess energy is released which is used to make ATP from ADP
              2. Pathway 2 (non-cyclic)
                1. 2 electrons absorb light energy
                  1. high energy electrons do not return to chlorophyll
                    1. as it moves, excess energy is released which is used to make ATP and ADP
                      1. the electrons combine with NADP+ and a proton to form NADPH
              3. 3. Products
                1. ATP: gives energy to dark stage reactions
                  1. NADPH: supplies protons and enegised electrons for dark stage reactions
                    1. O2: respiration/ released to atmosphere
