Definition of the problem of digital
transformation in Colombian enterprises
According to a Dell Technologies study on digital transformation, in
which 4,600 business leaders from 12 industries in 42 countries,
including Colombia, were surveyed, the results showed three major
obstacles to digital transformation:
34% concern about
privacy and data
security.
33% lack of budget
and resources.
27% lack of skills and
internal expertise.
• Causes of the problem of digital transformation in Colombian enterprises
In contrast, that same survey revealed that in Colombia the main barriers to
digital transformation are:
The increasing
amount of
information.
Lack of appropriate
technologies to work at
business speed.
Concern for
privacy and data
security.
Consequences of the problem of
digital transformation in
Colombian enterprises
Digital technologies, along with innovation and creativity, play a
central role to boost growth again, after the drop in oil prices
since 2014 and the collapse of exports.
Colombia
is behind in rural connectivity compared to other
countries in the region, among other things due to
the need to update the Law before competing for the
700 MHz band, which is key for this purpose.
