RELATIVE CLAUSES

Defining relative clauses give essential information about things, people, possessions, places or times.
We introduce defining relative clauses with relative pronouns: that, which, who, whose, where or when.
THAT: Things or people
1. Working as a computer programmer is something that I love doing.
2. We use THAT in the place of who or wich in relative clauses.
  1. He's the man that (=who) we met at the stadium
  2. Here's the cell phone that (=which) I got for my birthday.
WHICH: Things
1. Pop music is the kind of music which I listen to most.
WHO: People
1. Anyone who knows Sarah will agree thet she is a very sweet person.
WHOSE: Possession
1. I work for a company whose clients are very demanding.
WHERE: Places
1. I visited a stadium where Pelé played when he was young.
WHEN: Times
1. The is the time when most people are at home watching TV.
