Air/Ayre | A song or simple melody in Renaissance music, this can refer to a lute song, performed with a soloist and a lute accompanist. |
Ballett | From the Renaissance period, a ballett is a type of madrigal, sung a Capella. It is in strophic form and features repeated fa la las. |

Electronic Dance Music | Usually heard in clubs where the DJ combines various tracks into one smooth mix. |
Contemporary Jazz | An umbrella term for all kinds of jazz being played now (from the 80s onwards). |
