Jewish Clothing for Worship | Teflin- 2 small boxes with black straps attached onto them. One box is worn on the head and the other is wrapped around the arm by Jewish men every weekday morning. It is worn to remind them that God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt. |
Kippah- this is the clothing worn by Jewish men. It is a scull cap that Orthodox Jews wear. Reform and Liberal Jews say that the skull cap is optional. | Talit- this si a prayer shawl for men during prayers which they must wear during the day. the Tallit- Katan, is teh longer version of the Tallit, it should cover all of your body and is put on top of the Dead body. |
Tzitzit- these are the fringes on the Tallit (prayer shawl) to remember all of the 613 commandments (Mitzvot) of God (like the pommogranite seeds) | Men should wear long sleeved shirts. Women have their collar bones, elbows, legs and knees covered. Married women have their heads covered. Cross dressing is not permitted. |
