Question Answer
Define: Amount of Substance Chemist's use 'amount of substance' as a means of counting atoms. The unit is the 'Mole'
One Mole = 6.02*10^23
Define 'Avogadro's Constant' The number of atoms per mole of the Carbon-12 isotope (6.02*10^23)
Number of Moles = (Number of particles you have) / (number of particles in a mole)
The mass of one mole of an element = Its relative atomic mass in grams
1 mole of H = 1 mole of hydrogen atoms
1 mole of H2 = 1 mole of hydrogen molecules
Molar mass Molar mass gives the mass in grams of a substance
Moles = Mass / Mr Mass in grams / molar mass
