Question Answer
what are the organelles in an Eukaryotic cell? 1.Rough endoplasmic rectillium 2.Smooth endoplasmic rectillium 3.Cell membrane 4.ribosome 5.nucleus 6.golgi apparatus 7.cyctoplasm 8.Mitochondrion 9.lysosome 10.centriole 11.vesicle
What are the organelles in a Prokaryotic cell? 1.cell membrane 2.cell wall 3.plasmid (ring of DNA) 3.Flagellum 4.Ribosome 5.DNA
What is the structure and function on a Nucleus? Structure:Nucleus is surrounded by a nuclear envelope. Which contains many pores.also contains chromatain and often a structure called a nucleolus. Function: Chromatin is made from DNA and proteins. The pores allow transport of substances in and out of the nucleus (RNA). The nucleolus produces Ribosomes.
What is the structure and function of a Lysosome? Structure :A round organelle surrounded by a cell membrane, with no clear internal structure. Function:contains digestive enzymes , keeps them seperated from cytoplasm with cell membrane. Also digests invading cells or breaks down worn out components of cells.
What is the structure and function on a vesicle? Structure: a small fluid filled sac in the cytoplasm, surrounded by a cell membrane. Function: Transports substances in and out of cell via cell membrane and between organelles. Some are formed by golgi apparatus or the endoplasmic rectillium. while others are formed at the cells surface.
What is the structure and function of a ribosome? Structure : A very small organelle thats floats free in the cytoplasm or is attached to a rough endoplasmic rectillium. Function: the site where proteins are made.
What is the structure and function of both Rough/Smooth endoplasmic rectillium? Strcuture: a system of membranes enclosing in a fluid filled space , the RER is simular but is covered in ribosomes. Function:The smooth ER processes and synthesis lipids whereas the Rough ER processes and synthesis proteins (made in ribosomes).
What is the structure and function of Golgi apparatus? Structure: a group of flattened fluid filled sacks. vesicles are often found surrounding the edges of the sacks. Function: Processes and package new lipids and proteins. it also makes lysosomes.
What is the structure and function of a centriole? Structure: hollow cylinders that contain a ring of microtubles. Function : involved in the seperation of chromosomes during cell divison.
What is the the structure and function of mitochondrion? Structure:Usually oval-shaped. Contains a double membrane the inner one is folded to form structures called cristae. Inside is the matrix which contains enzymes involved in respiration. Function:Produces ATP the site of aerobic respiration.Found in large numbers in active cells and that require energy.
What are the differences between Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells. 1.Eu(2-200) Are larger than Pro(2) 2.Eu's Dna is linear Pro's Dna is circular. 3.Eu contains nucleus ( DNA inside) Pro contains no nucleus (Dna free in cytoplasm). 4.Eu No cell wall in animals , Cellulose well wall in plants . chitin cell wall in fungi. PRO- Cell wall made of a polysaccaride. No CC. 5.EU Many organelle, Mitochondrion present PRO- No Mito and Less organelle. 6.Larger ribosomes - smaller ribosomes 7.Eg Human liver cell. E.coli bacterium.
