Question Answer
Over-Production Organisations produce more offspring than can possibly survive so that population remains stable.
Struggle for existence Organisms that experience environmental resistance. E.g competing for food.
Variation Different characteristics/mutations in a population which may give an advantage in severe struggle for existence.
Survival of the fittest The individuals that are most successful (are most suited/adaptable to the environment) will survive.
Characteristics passed down The well adapted individuals are more likely to survive and breed therefor will pass on good characteristics/advantages. (NATURAL SELECTION)
Selection Pressure Where the environment applies a 'struggle for existence' such as shortage of food.
