Question Answer
Nucleus Controls all the activities of the cell. Has genes on chromosomes that carry instructions on how to make proteins needed to create new cells.
Cytoplasm A liquid gel where most chemical reactions in the cell take place. For example the beginning of respiration.
Cell membrane Controls the passage of substances such as glucose and mineral ions into the cell and urea or hormones out of it.
Mitochondria Structures in the cytoplasm where oxygen is used and energy is released during respiration.
Ribosomes Where protein synthesis takes place, it makes all the proteins a cell needs.
