| Question | Answer |
| Nucleus | Controls all the activities of the cell. Has genes on chromosomes that carry instructions on how to make proteins needed to create new cells. |
| Cytoplasm | A liquid gel where most chemical reactions in the cell take place. For example the beginning of respiration. |
| Cell membrane | Controls the passage of substances such as glucose and mineral ions into the cell and urea or hormones out of it. |
| Mitochondria | Structures in the cytoplasm where oxygen is used and energy is released during respiration. |
| Ribosomes | Where protein synthesis takes place, it makes all the proteins a cell needs. |
