Parts of a Cell 1. The nucleus is the brain of the cell. It controls the activities of a cell. 2. The cytoplasm is where reactions take place. 3. The cell membrane controls the movement of substances in and out of the cell and holds the cell together. 4. The chloroplast contains chlorophyll and takes up light to create food. The mitochondria is where aerobic respiration takes place. 9. The chromosomes carry all the information that helps a cell grow, survive, and reproduce. They also help in cell division. | Questions: |
