Define Abiotic? Non-living things. Ex Air, Rain, Water and light
Define Adaption? Characteristics that allow them to survive and reproduce in their biome
Define Annual precipitation? The amount of rain fall received on a given year.
Define Biodiversity? The variety of all living things species of plants, animals and micro organisms on Earth.
Define Biome? Is a region with similar biotic and abotic compounds.
Define Biosphere? The area on and near the Earths surface where living things exist.
Define Biotic? Living things. Ex Birds,Bacteria and trees.
Define Climate? The average pattern of weather conditions in a region.
Define Climatograph ? Shows the average temperature and precipitation for a location over a long period of time.
Define commensalism? A symbiotic relationship in which one species benefits and the other is nether helped or harmed.
Define community? All the populations of the different spices that interact in a specific area or ecosystem.
Define ecosystem? Part of a biome in which brotic factors interact with each other and with abotic factors.
Define Elevation? Distance above sea level, also influences biomes.
Define Host? Any organisms on or which a parasitic organism liver, for nourishment and protection.
Define Latitude? Distance north and south from the equator. Effects the angle that the suns energy hits the earth.
Define Lichen? They have fungus that live on them. They produce sugar and oxygen. They are found on rocks and trees.
Define mutualism? A symbiotic relationship in which both spices benefit from the interaction.
Define Niche? All organisms in a ecosystem have their own job, this is called their niche.
Define Parasitism? A symbiotic relationship in which one benefits and the other is harmed.
Define Permafrost? Ground that remains frozen all year.
Define photosynthesis? Producers are organisms that perform photosynthesis water + carbon dioxide = sugar and oxygen.
Define population? All the members of a particular spices with in an ecosystem.
Define predation? A relationship in which one organism (predator) eat all or part of another organism (prey).
Define symbiosis? When members of two different spices live together in close association.
