What ELEMENT of ART is the image displaying? LINE The lines on the left are considered "Actual lines" while the lines on the right are considered "implied lines."
ORGANIC SHAPES Organic shapes are defined as shapes that are irregular or asymmetrical in appearance and tend to have a curvy flow to them. Nearly all shapes found in nature are organic in appearance.
GEOMETRIC SHAPE Geometric shapes such as circles, triangles or squares have perfect, uniform measurements and don't often appear in nature.
Primary Colors Primary colors include red, blue and yellow. Primary colors cannot be mixed from other colors. They are the source of all other colors.
Secondary Color a color resulting from the mixing of two primary colors.
Tertiary color Tertiary colors are combinations of primary and secondary colors. There are six tertiary colors; red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, and red-violet.
Analogous Colors Analogous colors are colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.
Complimentary Colors Complementary colors are the opposite hues on the color wheel.
Tint a TINT is a mixture of a color with white
TONE TONE is any pure Hue with Neutral Gray added. The color remains the same only less vibrant.
Hue the pure pigment of a color
Shade Color Theory defines a True Shade​ as any pure Hue or mixture of pure colors with only Black added. In other words, it contains absolutely no White or Gray.
