Question Answer
What does a nucleus do in an animal cell? It controls everything that happens in the cell, like a brain
What is cytoplasm? It is a jelly like substance where most of the activity in the cell happens
What does the cell membrane do and where is it in both types of cells? It lies on the border of the animal cell and lies beneath the cell wall in the plant cell. It controls what goes in and out of the cell.
Is the vacuole in the plant or animal cell? It is in the plant cell
What does the vacuole do? it stores food and pushes against the plant's cell walls to keep the cell's structure and form
What does chloroplast contain and do? it contains the green pigment called chlorophyll, which captures energy from light. This is a part of the process called photosynthesis.
What is photosynthesis? it is the process of which a plant and it's cells would make food for itself. They need sunlight, CO2 and water to make this food
what does the cell wall do and what type of cell is it in plant, it protects the cell
True or False, Plants are the smallest units of life True
What do all cells have to contain? a nucleus, cell membrane and cyotplasm
What is a muscle cell, is it a plant or animal cell and how is it specialised? an animal cell, it stores protein for growth it is elastic so it can be stretched
What does a root hair cell do, is it an animal or a plant cell and what makes it a specialised cell it gets water from soil, plant cell, special feature: it has a large surface area
Fat cell: what does it do, plant or animal cell, special feature? It stores nutrients, animal cell, it has special tissue that stores energy into fat
