This course covers Calculations involving Masses, which is part of Topic 1: Key Concepts in Chemistry. This topic is common to Paper 3 and Paper 4 of the GCSE Edexcel Combined Science Course.
This course contains no quiz - examples are included throughout the notes instead. Make sure to attempt the questions yourself before looking at the solutions!
The following information, included in this course, is assessed at Higher Tier only:
Calculations using moles
Excess and limiting reactants
How to deduce the stoichiometry of a reaction from the masses of the reactants and products
Metals vs Non-Metals
Most metals are shiny solids which have high melting points, high density and are good conductors of electricity.
Most non-metals have low boiling points and are poor conductors of electricity.
