Open land is more common further away from the city centre and is usually cheaper.   Central Business District (CBD): Highly accessible Attractive to businesses Shops, entertainment, and offices Central location Connected to public transport   Inner City: Highly dense accomodation - workers needed to live nearby the CBD Few areas of open land Often redeveloped due to counter-urbanisation and suburbanisation Terraces and high-rise flats   Inner Suburbs: Larger semi-detached homes with gardens Cheaper than living in the inner city Created as transport becomes cheaper   Outer Suburbs: At the edge of the city Detached homes and housing estates Retail parks and supermarkets Some businesses move here to take advantage of good transport links
