    Caption: : A brief report on lepcha tribe patterns
    Lepcha Weaving of Sikkim   Lepcha weaving is native to Sikkim and goes back to ancient times when the Lepchas used yarn spurn out of natural fibre – Nettle, also known as Sisnu, for Handloom weaving.   The traditional Lepcha Attire comprises of two sets of outfits ‘Dum-vum’ - worn by women ‘Dum-praa’ - worn by men These attires are crowned with hand-made accessories. Dum-praa The Dum-praa is men’s outerwear. It is a shawl-like fabric worn as a covering during the day and taken off to use as a blanket at night. It normally follows three distinct patterns – the Tagaap the Khemchu’ and the Tamblyoak
