Standard Form
  1. Converting numbers to standard form
    1. The amount of 0's is the number you need to use as a power
      1. e.g 1 000 000 = 1 x 10^6
      2. If there is more than one sig. fig. then you need to change the number into a decimal and add on an extra number to the power.
        1. e.g. 540 = 5.4 x 10^2
        2. Minus numbers
          1. You times it with a minus power
            1. The amount of 0s after the d.p + 1 is the number for the power
              1. e.g 0. 000 0006 = 6 x 10^-7
                1. e.g 1.36 10^-4= 0.000136
            2. Multiplying Standard Form
              1. Multiply the coefficients and add the indices.
                1. e.g (4.5 x 10^4) x (6.45 x 10^5)
                  1. 4.5 x 6.45 = 29.025
                    1. 4+5 = 9
                      1. 29.025 x 10^9
                        1. 2.9025 x 10^10
                  2. Adding Standard Form
                    1. e.g (4.5 x 10^4) x (6.45 x 10^5)
                      1. Convert the numbers into normal numbers then add
                    2. Dividing Standard Form
                      1. Divide the coefficients and subtract the indices.
                        1. e.g (8x10^9) / (2x10^3)
                          1. = (8/2)x10^(9-3)
                            1. 4 x 10^6
                        2. Subtracting Standard Form
                          1. Convert the numbers into normal numbers then minus them
