A young girl is being abused by her boyfriend and she's terrified of him. He expects too much of her, such as his tea to always be ready on the table when he gets home, even though he gets home at varying times each day, and she is physically punished when she gets things wrong.
As she's too scared to tell anyone close to her, incase he finds out and punishes her for it, she creates a vlog on a website, as she thinks her boyfriend will never check. She posts videos explaining what's happened to her each day because of him, and her feelings about the situations,
which are normally that she's scared and doesn't know what to do.
Then one day, an account starts commenting on her vlogs giving her advice. She has no idea who's behind the blog, but as she can't talk to anyone else about her
situation, she takes the advice on board, except the advice is not good advice; the account advises her to stay quiet about the abuse because she loves her boyfriend deep
down and she shouldn't cause trouble for him just because she can't behave. They suggest trying to please him more, rather than running away from the problem.
Although the young girl tries to take the advice, it all becomes too much and she posts a dramatic post about having to tell someone in the real world to get proper help, or end it all that day. That's when it's revealed that the account is actually her
boyfriend, and there's a dramatic cut from her sat in front of the webcam and him sat behind a computer in another unspecified location.
Good points
Can make good use of makeup skills
Gripping
Unexpected twist
What would make it difficult
Would be difficult to show off filming skills as only basic eye-level close-ups would be required for most shots
Would need an extremely talented actor and actress
Missing
A girl is found on the moors wearing very thin clothing, wet through by an old gentleman
passing by in his campervan. He pulls up and asks her if she's okay, before giving her his coat
and instructing her to get in so that he can take her somewhere warmer and safer.
He asks her where she wants to go, and she says
she wants to go home because she's really missing
her dad because it's always been just her and her
dad, although it's not explained at this point why.
The old gentleman drives her home and sees that she gets into
her house okay, before realising that she still wearing his coat, so
he goes and knocks on the door to get it back, except it's not the
girl who he just met that answers, it's her father.
The old gentleman is surprised, but explains the situation to the father who's mood suddenly
becomes odd. "Is this a joke?!" he asks him angrily, before explaining that his daughter went
missing two years ago, and was found dead on the moors weeks afterwards
The father breaks down, and the old gentleman tries to comfort him, despite his own disbelief. The father then invites him in and they sit
and have a cup of tea whilst they talk about what's happened. The old gentleman explains what the girl was saying about missing her
father, which gives him some comfort.
The old gentleman decides that he wants to see her grave for himself,
and so he asks where he can find it. The father tells him and he drives
over there. When he reaches her gravestone, he finds his coat hung over it.
Good points
Have access to actors and actresses that fit into the age groups of all three characters
Have access to a campervan
Can make good use of local locations such as Ilkley moor
Gripping and
unpredictable storyline
What would make it difficult
We would have to film in the dark
But we could use different camera modes and editing techniques to help us
We would have to film in the campervan,
and a lot of the filming equipment is big and bulky
We can use different camera angles and techniques to get around this issue
