   • There are several types of origins, so I am attaching some extracted from the bibliography and from consultations with other sources.
   1. Satellite image processing in 1996 (super computers), NASA

   3. Articles published by the Google company in 2003 and 2004
   4. Athens-Sparta War (431 BC) used data analysis
2. Some definitions

   Annotations:

   • I was looking for some definitions of the big tech companies and my personal definition of how I understand big data.
   1. Data sets that exceed the capabilities of SQL, (IBM)
   2. Data sets whose nature lies in the 3Vs (Oracle)
   3. These are the challenges of data management (amazon)
   4. It's the solution for the technological situation of the data (author's own)
3. Motivations
   1. New job opportunities in Big data and its derivatives
   2. The need in the society to exploit data
   3. improve processes in many sectors of the industry: health, agriculture...
   4. Humanity is on the way to the digitalization of information
4. Implications
   1. Ethics:: The handling of personal information or possible abuse of information power, data-driven decision making
   2. Technological:: new paradigms of data, infrastructure and information management
   3. Policies: rethink data governance and international laws that regulate big data
   4. Socio - economic: Possible dependence on society and cultural changes derived from the use of big data
