Rule for MULTIPLYING surds? √a x √b = √ab AND C√a x D√b = CD√ab
Rule for DIVIDING surds? √a ÷ √b = √a/b AND C√a ÷ D√b = C/D√a/b
SIMPLIFYING surds rules? √20 = √4x5 = 2√5 √20 + √45 = 2√5 + 3√5 = 5√5
Rationalise the denominator of 2/√5 Multiply the top and bottom by √5: 2 x √5/√5 x √5 = 2√5/5
