Question Answer
Principle of the conservation of energy Energy cannot be created or destroyed.
Work Done, W (joules) = force applied, F x distance moved along the line of action of the force, s
Change in object's gravitational potential energy store = weight, N x change of height
ΔEp Change of gravitational potential energy store = m g Δh mass x gravitational field strength x change in height
Ek= Kinetic energy = 1/2 m v^2 1/2 x mass x speed squared
efficiency = useful output energy transferred by the device __________________________ total input energy supplied to the device
Problem: Friction between the moving parts causes heating.... how would you improve the efficiency? LUBRICATE!
