SMS Short message service (SMS) is normally known as texting or text messaging.
Instant Messaging Instant messaging or IM is where two or more people can be involved in text-based Internet conversation.
Fax A fax machine (short for facsimile) is used to transfer a document to another fax machine or a computer using telephone lines.
Email Electronic mail used for sending messages and attachements between computers.
Chat Rooms People can communicate online using a chat room where the conversation happens in real time using a keyboard for data entry.
Internet Forums Internet forums or message boards are used for online discussion; they are used by interest groups to post and respond to messages.
Bulletin Boards Used to upload and download software, read news articles and exchange messages with other users.
VoIP – Internet Telephone Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP is where voice communications can be transmitted over the Internet.
Video Conference Video/teleconferencing is an example of collaborative working that is based on two or more locations being able to interact with others via multi-way video and audio transmissions simultaneously
